Transport Supervisor, Hull. Salary is circa £28,000 - £30,000 dependant upon experience. This role will involve working a 5 out of 7-day shift cycle currently covering 6am– 2pm, 10am– 6pm and 2pm– 10 pm shift on a rolling rota. Weekend work is also needed to be covered on a rota basis. Flexibility is vital for this role, as you may be required it is to cover holidays or absence for the other Supervisors/Managers.
Arlington Moore Recruitment is recruiting for our client who is a hugely successful and growing company. Due to internal progression, they are now looking to appoint a Transport Supervisor to join their team.
Maximising driver and vehicle utilisation and ensuring all deliveries depart and arrive on time and any collections or backloads are planned in and collected
Ensuring all vehicle defects are reported and booked in / rectified / repaired with the relevant audit trail ensuring vehicle maintenance is fully adhered to and road worthiness compliance is followed
Manage all driver hours ensuring they comply with driver’s rules and regulations and that the company maintains all aspects of O licence compliance
Ensure all driving incidents are investigated and that all insurance documentation is filled in and sent to all relevant parties
Ensure any blameworthy incidents with drivers are fully investigated and that these are dealt with in line with our company disciplinary procedures
Manage drivers rota, holiday levels, manning / staffing levels effectively to agreed levels and that any shortfall is highlighted in advance and all work is covered
Supply and control any additional materials such as refrigerators / shelving are planned in and delivered within agreed time-frames to stores
Transport projects and additional duties as defined by the Transport Controller are followed through to completion within the set time frames and parameters
Essential Skills / Experience:
This role is set within a busy transport environment the ability to react and think on your feet and liaise with and make the correct decisions with the best needs of the business at heart are essential
Good communication skills are essential as this role involves constant communication within the department other internal departments
Flexibility is essential within this role as the needs of the business do dictate the need to cover hours and shift patterns so that all tasks are completed successfully
A national CPC qualification is desired but not essential, however experience within a Transport environment is preferred
