Our client is a successful manufacturing company with exciting plans for growth, who are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Director to join their dynamic team.
The Manufacturing Director is a key member of the senior management team and will be involved in some international work. The role of Manufacturing Director is particularly exciting as it provides an opportunity for personal career growth and reward.
The role of Manufacturing Director
In addition to ensuring cost-effective product supply that meets customer demands, the role of Manufacturing Director includes safety and compliance functions and oversees product quality to maintain brand integrity. It includes managing all aspects of manufacturing facilities efficiently, providing insightful and educated guidance to help drive the company’s growth and profitability.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Manufacturing Director will provide leadership to shape and articulate the organiation’s strategic plan.
The Manufacturing Director will engage with leaders to align production processes and equipment with market needs and growth, participate in budgeting processes by proposing staffing and capital investment plans, research and evaluate new materials or technologies for potential acquisition or alliances, and assess current manufacturing capacity and plan for future capacity requirements based on sales forecasts and market trends.
Education and Experience required for the Manufacturing Director:
A degree, preferably in a technical discipline, is desirable, along with progressively responsible work experience in operations leadership roles. Experience with ERP systems and an understanding of manufacturing processes are essential, as is a proven track record in operational excellence and team leadership.
The ideal Manufacturing Director / Production Director will be results-oriented with high initiative and ownership, have an inquisitive mind to stay abreast of new technologies, and possess strong business acumen and operations management expertise.
The Manufacturing Director should have effective team leadership and facilitation skills, a strong service ethic, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, strong project management skills, and the ability to develop creative business solutions and sound judgement.
