Arlington Moore are working in partnership with a successful company based in Lincoln who are looking for an additional Purchaser or Buyer to compliment their team. You may already be working as a Buyer, Purchaser or Purchasing Assistant or Procurement Assistant, but we would also welcome applications from Stock Controllers, Supply Chain Assistants or Stock Coordinators or Supply Chain Coordinators who might be looking to centre their career around purchasing.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager principal accountabilities include;
Ensuring all purchase orders are placed within the lead times of the product/supplier; preventing any stock outages and ensuring stock remains within agreed parameters
Confirming delivery dates
Rescheduling orders in-line with current demand
Supporting the Consumables Buyer with the placing of orders for any consumable requests
Expediting any overdue orders
Reviewing the open order books regularly
Closing down any open balances and liaising with other departments to ensure the dates of their purchase orders are also up to date
Assisting Quality when material is rejected to ensure supplier collects and issues credit notes
Resolving any invoice queries for finance to ensure no delays in payments
Skills & Knowledge
Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Word & Excel; experience of an MRP system is an advantage
Excellent attention to detail, accurate and consistent in completion of work
Experience within a procurement department or experience of purchasing as part of your job role
